Disney Honors New Class of Disney Legends

Disney has introduced a new class of Disney Legends, celebrating individuals who have made lasting contributions to the Disney legacy. This year’s honorees include animators, performers, and creative talents who helped shape the magic behind the scenes and on stage. These legends represent the heart of Disney’s storytelling and innovation, reminding fans of the rich history behind the parks and films. Notable recipients include former CEO Bob Iger, Anne Hathaway, and Lin Manuel Miranda.

If you’re a Disney enthusiast, keep an eye out for special events and exhibits honoring these legends throughout the year at Disney World and other Disney locations.

New Disney World Ticket Option for Entry After 2 PM This Summer

Disney World is rolling out a new ticket option designed for guests who prefer afternoon visits. During this summer, you can purchase a ticket that grants entry after 2 PM. This option offers a more affordable way to experience the parks during the evening hours.

This ticket is perfect if you want to avoid the morning rush or plan to spend your mornings relaxing or exploring other parts of Orlando. It also pairs well with evening shows and fireworks, giving you a full day of fun without the early start.

Available from May 26th to July 29th, 2026 for 2-day and 3-day park tickets. Valid for admission after 2pm to 1 park per day. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable

Mears Shuttle Adds 3% Fuel Surcharge

If you plan on using the Mears shuttle service for transportation between Orlando International Airport and the resorts, be aware that a 3% fuel surcharge has been added to all future fares. This change reflects rising fuel costs due to the ongoing conflict in the Strait of Hormuz and will affect your travel budget slightly.

While this surcharge is modest, it’s a good idea to factor it into your planning, especially if you will be relying on shuttle services during your visit.

Mickey's PhilharMagic Removed from Early Theme Park Entry

One change that might affect your morning plans is that Mickey's PhilharMagic has been removed from the Early Theme Park Entry lineup at Disney World. This means the popular 3D show will no longer be available during the early entry reserved for resort guests and select ticket holders.

If you haven't heard, Early Theme Park Entry is a cool perk for folks staying at Disney Resort hotels. It lets you get into the parks up to 30 minutes before everyone else. This means you can hit up some rides before the big crowds roll in.

If you enjoy this attraction, plan to visit it during regular park hours instead. This adjustment may shift crowd patterns in the morning, so consider arriving early for other popular rides.

Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin Prepares to Reopen After Refurbishment

Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin is almost ready to welcome visitors again after a big makeover. It’s been closed for a while for some updates and maintenance. Lately, a few lucky guests got to try out the ride during its soft opening, but Disney has said it’ll officially be back open on April 8th, 2026.

This classic interactive shooting gallery ride remains a favorite for families and Disney fans. Expect refreshed effects and smoother operation when it returns, making it a must-visit attraction once again.

Rumors of New Hotels in Magic Kingdom Expansion Plans

There's some exciting buzz going around that Disney might be thinking about adding new hotels as part of their plans to expand Magic Kingdom. While the details are still under wraps, some recent court papers hint that Disney could be looking at building new in-park resorts with unique themes and immersive experiences that tie in closely with the park's new areas.

If true, this would mark a significant development for Disney World’s resort offerings, providing guests with even more options for staying even closer to the magic. Keep watching for official announcements in the coming months.

Disney Dream Cruise Ship Celebrates 15 Years of Sailing

Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Dream is celebrating 15 years of sailing this year. Since its debut, the ship has become a favorite for families seeking a blend of Disney storytelling and ocean adventure.

To mark the milestone, special onboard events and commemorative merchandise are available on current sailings. If you’re considering a cruise, this anniversary adds an extra layer of magic to the Disney Dream experience.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Begins Ride Testing

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is getting a makeover, and they've started testing the ride! This means the awesome roller coaster will be back in action soon, much to the excitement of thrill-seekers and Disney fans. They're aiming to reopen in early May, but they haven't nailed down the exact date just yet.

The refurbishment has focused on improving ride smoothness and updating safety features. Once reopened, you can expect the classic wild west adventure with enhanced comfort and reliability and a few new surprises.
